Q: Do you need wind to operate a Reel Wings Decoy?

A: Yes, for optimal realism we recommend a minimum wind speed of 10 mph and a maximum of 30 mph.

Q: How do I get the Reel motion I see on your video?

A: Your Reel Wings Decoy System comes with the patent pending Motion Wrap™. This wrap allows your decoys the ability to move up and down and from side to side.

Q: Is the Motion Wrap™ anchored to the ground?

A: Yes, the Motion Wrap™ comes with a stake that that anchors in the ground.

Q: Do you have any tips for flying the decoys in winds 10 mph or 30mph?

A: Yes, the greater the wind speed, the lower you want to fly the Reel Wings™ decoys. To ensure optimal flight in lesser winds, be sure to extend the line completely. The amount of line released by the Motion Wrap™ controls how high or low your decoy will fly.

Q: How many Reel Wings Decoys™ do you recommend using?

A: For the best results, we recommend, at a minimum, the following configurations:
Snow Goose: Fly 2 Snow Goose, 1 Young Snow/Blue Goose, 1 Adult Blue Goose (per hunter)
Canada Goose: Fly 2 Canada Goose ONLY (per hunter)
Blue Goose: Fly 2 Snow Goose, 1 Young Snow/Blue Goose, 1 Adult Blue Goose (per hunter)
Duck: Fly 1 Snow Goose and 2 Duck Decoys (per hunter)
Crow: Fly 2 Crow Decoys (per hunter)

Q: How do I keep from shooting my decoys?

A: Your Reel Wings™ decoys ALWAYS fly behind the hunters, this is what makes these decoys so deadly! The Waterfowl are concentrated on the Reel Wings decoys™ decoys, not focusing on the hunter in front of the decoys.

Q: My decoy doesn't fly in winds 30+ mph is there anything I can do?

A: Reel Wings ™ are designed for light winds as low as 10 mph if you desire to fly in a higher wind area you may use gorilla glue along the body to the wings.

Q: I heard you had a recall on your decoys with the plastic dowel, is this true and how would I exchange mine to the new dowel system?

A: Reel Wings Decoy Co. Inc. is committed to giving our hunters the best possible hunting products and we did have a number of decoys this spring with a defective plastic dowel and a new dowel system has been implimented. Anyone that has a plastic dowel decoy may return it to us for a decoy with the new dowel system.

Q: Can you use Reel Wings over water?

A: Yes, you can do it a couple different ways if you are in a boat you can use a ice fishing pole and let your decoy spin and slowly let out the line or attatch your motion wrap to the ground, let out all of the line, walk out until it the line it tight give your decoy a spin once its up take the motion wrap and slowly walk to the shoreline.

Q: Can I run with the decoy and fly it like a kite?

A: No, Reel Wings decoys need tension to fly, just use the tent stake to attatch the motion wrap to the ground unwrap all of the line, walk out until the line is tight give the decoy a spin and the wind will do the rest. (min 10 mph wind)

Q: Can Easy Wings™ be used with any decoy?

A: Yes, our patent pending Easy Wings™ will attatch to any full body or shell decoy.

Q: Can Easy Wings™ be removed from my decoys or are they permanently attached?

A: Easy Wings™ attatche to your decoys with a strip of velcro so are easily removed for transport and storage.
